God Is… Each & Everyday (Intro Excerpt)

To follow is an excerpt of the Introduction to the devotional “God Is… Each and Everyday”

If I asked the question, “who do you think loved God the most in the bible, besides Jesus,” I believe the overwhelming response would be David. The Book of Psalm, being the evidence, bears his passionate expressions of love, devotion, dependence, and submission to a holy God. The scriptures attributed to his writing, demonstrates an earnest heart-to-heart connection between God and man.

Throughout the bible God declares how much He loves us, and how He pursues us for reciprocation of that love. He gives us advice, instruction, precepts, and examples on how we can fall in love with Him and sustain that love. Each day, we have access to an open-book (Bible) examination to measure our level of faithfulness and devotion to Him.

When we accept the love of God by yielding our hearts to Him, accepting the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, we tend to fall in love with Him so easily. Of course it is the indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit that is our divine assistance to do so. We are so in love with God that we run and tell anyone who will listen how wonderful we feel. “God is so great and I will never stop loving Him” might be your easy, daily testimony and confession.

How wonderful it is to be smitten like never before because you now know what true and eternal love feels like. You profess that you will love Him more than your physical stuff.

Some poetically declare to themselves and others, “I have put away the idols. Nothing and no one comes before the Lord my Maker. Gone so far away from me are the things that are temporal, that gathers dust and perishes so quickly. Oh how my heart beats only for Him. I will never love anyone like I do Him, my beloved. He is perfection, He is true, and there is none like Him. I think of Him moment-by-moment, day by day, week by week. My thoughts of love and devotion never fails, because He provides for me, He protects me, He comforts and loves me with an everlasting love. When His name is spoken my heart skips, and I lie awake on my bed pondering what He will do next. I can’t stop praising and worshiping my God. So great is He, my possession and obsession.”

Did you or do you ever say or think that?

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear;
but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Romans 8:15 KJV

Prayer for Direction and Guidance

Prayer to Overcome Sadness

Prayer to Overcome Negativity

Lord God, I repent for thinking or saying things that oppose what your scriptures say is the truth. Your word has declared who you are and who I am when I abide in you. I belong to you and I am your son/daughter. I am filled with your Holy Spirit. You have not given me a spirit to be afraid or timid. By your spirit I am strong, loving and self-disciplined. I understand that there are natural and spiritual challenges in the world but I take heart that I have your peace. In the midst of trials, tribulation or sorrow, I have the assurance that you have already overcome what confronts me. I already have victory over any circumstance because the Holy Spirit lives in me. Your spirit is greater than any spirit that is in the world.

You lift burdens from my thoughts, motives and intentions. You break every yoke of bondage from my shoulders. No weapon turned against me will succeed. Every voice raised in accusation against me is silenced. I enjoy the benefits you have extended to me as a servant of the Lord. I am vindicated from unrighteous judgment. I am justified, found not guilty, because of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Negative words do not proceed out of my mouth because my thoughts are renewed by your truth. I know in whom I live, move and have my very being.

I have the enabling ability to exercise authority over every challenge and challenger. My life is protected by your power. The word of God is my weapon to remove any stronghold of human reasoning that opposes God. I rest in the knowledge that you can end every mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual captivity. Your word destroys false and unrighteous arguments. Rebellious thoughts are captured and realigned to the obedience of the truth and Jesus Christ. Evil and negative thoughts are replaced by faith in you. My victory is through faith in the promises of your word and causes me to inherit your blessings. Thank you for being my God and I am your son/daughter.

Praise: A Weapon and Benefit

What do you desire or need to happen in your life? Your thoughts are creative and have attraction. You draw to yourself what you think, imagine, and create. So remember what the scriptures say… to think on the things that are good, just, pure, noteworthy, of a good report, etc. And that is what you can cause to flow into your life. Avoid anyone or anything that will cause you to focus on negative thoughts and scenarios. You have the power to control your thoughts and/or engagement with other people. As you rest in the Lord, help your mind, body and spirit heal itself. Allow God to fix what you can’t and show Him you will be faithful to keep the healing you receive.

My ultimate prescription for your healing is to keep yourself in a mode of praise to God. When you praise Him, it welcomes a greater measure of His presence around you. Heartfelt praise brings peace that surpasses understanding and unspeakable joy. You will begin to think and feel what God thinks and feel about you. His presence attracts the right people and circumstances to benefit your environment and overall health.

The adversary of your soul is a robber, thief and destroyer and he acts like a kidnapper. The first thing a kidnapper does is keep you from getting the attention of others. That is why praise is a mighty weapon. It gets the attention of God and draws His presence. Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God (Psalm 50:23).

When you call on the Lord, you are focusing on the King of Glory. Remember, the Holy Spirit is your helper, comforter, and teacher. So when you cry out to Him in prayer, He comes to your defense. When you praise the names of God and declare who you are in Christ Jesus, you gain His peace, blessings and deliverance to your heart, soul and spirit.

God loves you. That’s why I point you to Him instead of me, things and other people. I hope you will get to know and trust with confidence that He cares about you. —Excerpt from the book “He That Healeth Thee”

Little Book, Big Prayers: Career and Finances

To follow is an excerpt of the Introduction to the third “Little Book, Big Prayers” 4-book series scheduled for release October 27th.

There are many devices in a man’s heart;
nevertheless the counsel of the LORD,
that shall stand.
–Proverbs 19:21

And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him,
the spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the spirit of counsel and might,
the spirit of knowledge and of
the fear of the LORD;
–Isaiah 11:2

God is concerned about your soul and your spirit. Did you know that He is concerned about your career and your finances as well? They are the source of your seed. Your seed is what you do with your time, how you utilize your talents, how you serve others, and what you do with your money or other valuable resources. There are challenges, trials, and tribulations that confront us everyday. But God has addressed each and everyone of them in His word. He does not intend for you to struggle continuously.

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper
and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
–3John 1:2

God has a purpose and a plan for your life. That includes what you do with your life and the resources that are necessary to sustain you. Praying to receive your portion of the covenant blessings of God is available to everyone of His sons and daughters. Through the enabling assistance of the Holy Spirit, He teaches you how to be successful and shift out of the desolate places you may be in right now.

If you are in a place that lacks prayer or communion between you and God, then you are living without direction. Is the expectation of good things absent from your life? Is your everyday mundane or exasperating? Is a hopeless present and future all you see? Well, when you choose to cooperate with the plan of God by declaring the word of God over your life, over your career, over your finances, then you won’t have time to focus on past failures, current struggles, or a hopeless future.

Prayer helps you change your thinking and your value system. Your value system is what you believe about yourself and others, and what you believe about God. Prayer gives you access to kingdom blessings so you can think/believe, act and speak differently. Wouldn’t you prefer to associate with people who are walking in their God-given purpose and destiny? You too can walk in what has been established for your life–the plan and purpose of God. And it is possible for you to become a person who can encourage, inspire, motivate, and mentor others.

Keep therefore the words of this covenant,
and do them,
that ye may prosper
in all that ye do.
–Deuteronomy 29:9

Only be thou strong and very courageous,
that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law,
which Moses my servant commanded thee:
turn not from it to the right hand or to the left,
that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
–Joshua 1:7

Your words, thoughts/beliefs and actions dictate to your future. The scriptures say:

“You will eat the fruit of your lips.” — Your words.
“So as a man man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” — Your thoughts/beliefs
“You shall reap what you sow.” — Your actions.

This book will help you exercise your faith to experience the transforming power of God over your circumstances. Declare the scripture-based affirmations that God is the Lord, He is your source, and you choose His will for your life. Gain more faith in His promises of protection, provision, healing and deliverance. Through prayer you have power to change what you think, say and do in any circumstance. God wants you to experience spiritual growth and make better decisions about your career, your finances and your life.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
–Psalm 1:3

Little Book, Big Prayers: Mental & Physical Wholeness

To follow is an excerpt of the Introduction to the second “Little Book, Big Prayers” 4-book series scheduled for release October 27th.

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.–Malachi 4:2

Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.–Jeremiah 17:14

God wants you well and whole. When you are suffering emotionally, mentally and physically, it is difficult to live a fruitful life. One of the names of God is Jehovah-Raphe, the Lord our Healer. He wants you to know and believe that He is loving, present, compassionate and powerful. His power is available and is given to us through the Holy Spirit. You must be willing to receive His virtues like, love, grace, and strength. And you must be willing to use the word of God as access to all of His other virtues.

Each of us have daily needs. God has already instructed us to ask and believe to receive. Your faith in Him and His scriptures moves God. He wants to meet your needs but you must learn and know how to trust Him. He wants you to be His son or daughter, meaning you accept Jesus Christ as your personal saviour and are filled with His Holy Spirit. Once you do so, you are counted as one of His children.

When the children of Israel were in the wilderness, God gave them a promise of protection, provision, healing, deliverance and well-being. The requirements to receive these blessings was to reverence and honor Him, love Him with all their heart, mind and strength, obey His law, walk in His ways and serve Him with joy and gladness. Those promises with those stipulations are still in effect for those of us who claim our membership to the household of faith.

But now we have an even greater benefit. We have 24 hours/7 days a week access to God through the Holy Spirit for communion and fellowship in prayer. He is a ready audience to our sacrifice of thanksgiving, praise and worship. When you enter into His presence through prayer and times of meditating on Him and the scriptures, you receive His life-changing benefits.

If you are struggling, then how do you value yourself? In other words, what are you saying, thinking/believing, and doing? Your words, thoughts/beliefs and actions dictate to your future. The scriptures say:

“You will eat the fruit of your lips.” — Your words.
“So as a man man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” — Your thoughts/beliefs
“You shall reap what you sow.” — Your actions.

God wants you to learn and know His word. He wants you to know and believe what He says about you and your inheritance. He wants you to feel good about yourself and accepting of yourself. He wants you to be able to have healthy relationships with other people. God completes you. In His sight you are perfect, entire and lacking nothing. He does not want you to be unhealthy mentally or physically. He doesn’t want you to be discouraged or have low self-esteem because He has declared in His word that you are chosen and you are royalty.
