Jesus Get-aways

Once in a while I think I procrastinate in getting things done. But I find when time is deferred to abiding and quietly resting in the Lord’s presence, it gives me the greatest solace. Then the tasks I needed to accomplish always get done. When I take a Jesus Get-away, I abstain from TV, radio, internet, phone, email, and social networking for a full day. I have a busy lifestyle but I believe frequent Jesus Get-aways rejuvenate and transform your life. The Lord always allows you to see your spiritual growth whenever you devote your time to studying or meditating on the scriptures… praying and interceding for others. I look back over my life, and there are some things that used to be significant that I no longer consider or entertain. You get a different perspective of your emotional, physical, financial, spiritual life and relationships.

God had a simple formula for the children of Israel to receive His protection and blessings: And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good? – Deuteronomy 10:12-13

Although the challenges of life can distract or discourage, you can have joy knowing that the Lord is with you. He is your strength and peace. You can release the old things (bondage and lack) to receive the new things (blessing, deliverance and healing). Don’t allow the noise pollution of the day keep you from hearing and listening to the voice of the Lord. Hearing and listening are two different functions.

Trade in self-satisfaction (the ego) and distractions (the unimportant things) to allow God to move in response to your expectations. Your expectations should be born out of hope, faith, spiritual hunger and desire. He moves in response to communication and communion with the “still small voice.” When you choose to sit at the feet of Jesus like Mary did, you can get a taste of how she felt. You can have a greater devotion and  closer walk with Jesus Christ. Even He took frequent get-a-ways with the Father. See Luke 5:16, Luke 6:12, John 6:15, John 8:1.

“Talk to God with Affirmations of Faith,” is the sequel to the bestselling book “Pray What God Says.” I have written prayers of affirmation to help you develop a deeper relationship with God as you learn the scriptures relative to any circumstance. There are over 120 scripturallly-based prayers of affirmation regarding Spiritual Growth, Family, Health, Finances and other circumstances to jumpstart or enhance your prayerlife.

Speak affirmations over your life that reflect what God says about you, what He says about your access to Him, and your access to His kingdom promises. The two preface chapters explain why living in kingdom privilege and kingdom access demands that you: Speak the Language of Kingdom and Shift from Victim to Victorious. When you do, prepare to enter into God’s tangible presence where your heart will readily commit to His love, power, peace and blessings.

The effects of communion and fellowship with God yields the manifestation of spiritual growth and blessing in every facet of your life. The benefit of prayer is the evidence that God truly honors what is promised in His Word. It is important to know the Word of God for effective and effectual prayer. And His Word declares who He is, what He does, who we are, and what we can have. Our greatest access to God, kingdom living, and the assistance of the Holy Spirit is through prayer.
