Prayer for Nations and Leaders

Psalm 2:8

Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance,

and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

Father you urge us to pray for all people. We intercede on their behalf to give thanks for them. We ask you to help all government leaders and those in authority. May they live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. Lord you are the God of our fathers and you alone are the God in heaven. The kingdoms of this earth are under your rule. You are powerful and mighty and no one can stand against you.

We are your people who are called by your name. We humble ourselves to pray and seek your face. We turn from our wicked ways so you will hear our cry in heaven. Thank you for forgiving our sins and restoring our land to righteousness. The earth is the Lords and everything in it, the world and all its people belong to you. You ask us to remember Israel and pray that they be saved and to pray for peace. You take great delight in Israel. We pray for every nation, tribe and tongue of the earth.

Your word says that when there is moral rot within a nation, its government is easily toppled. When the wicked are in power, the people groan. We pray for wise and knowledgeable leaders. When the godly are in authority there is stability and the people rejoice. Blessed and great is the nation who has a god near to them as the Lord our God. You are near us whenever we call on you. You are the Lord God both in heaven and on earth and there is none other.

We are a people of this nation who know their God, so we are strong and will resist the enemy. Set us apart as holy to you Lord, and choose us from all the nations of the earth to be your own special treasure. We are not prey for other nations and wild animals will not devour us. We live in safety and no one frightens us. Nothing will hurt or destroy us because we dwell in your holy mountain. Just as the waters fill the sea, so will the earth be filled with people who know the Lord.

We go out and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We declare and decree that our president, government leaders and those who have authority over the people of this nation will speak with divine wisdom. Our leaders follow your judgments that are fair, detesting wrongdoing. They will not violate their conscience to rely on prayer and the word of God.

Strength, courage and wisdom in decision-making are based in spiritual principles. Their conscious is rooted in the foundation of truth and justice. Lord you are pleased when words come from righteous lips, speaking honestly. Our leaders are godly men and women who live in the land and their integrity remains in it. Every wicked leader will be removed from the land and their treachery will be uprooted. Each leader is accountable to Almighty God for their positions, and for the way they handle themselves. Unfailing love and faithfulness protects our leaders and they are made secure when they demonstrate love for your people and this nation.

God Is… Each & Everyday (Intro Excerpt)

To follow is an excerpt of the Introduction to the devotional “God Is… Each and Everyday”

If I asked the question, “who do you think loved God the most in the bible, besides Jesus,” I believe the overwhelming response would be David. The Book of Psalm, being the evidence, bears his passionate expressions of love, devotion, dependence, and submission to a holy God. The scriptures attributed to his writing, demonstrates an earnest heart-to-heart connection between God and man.

Throughout the bible God declares how much He loves us, and how He pursues us for reciprocation of that love. He gives us advice, instruction, precepts, and examples on how we can fall in love with Him and sustain that love. Each day, we have access to an open-book (Bible) examination to measure our level of faithfulness and devotion to Him.

When we accept the love of God by yielding our hearts to Him, accepting the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, we tend to fall in love with Him so easily. Of course it is the indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit that is our divine assistance to do so. We are so in love with God that we run and tell anyone who will listen how wonderful we feel. “God is so great and I will never stop loving Him” might be your easy, daily testimony and confession.

How wonderful it is to be smitten like never before because you now know what true and eternal love feels like. You profess that you will love Him more than your physical stuff.

Some poetically declare to themselves and others, “I have put away the idols. Nothing and no one comes before the Lord my Maker. Gone so far away from me are the things that are temporal, that gathers dust and perishes so quickly. Oh how my heart beats only for Him. I will never love anyone like I do Him, my beloved. He is perfection, He is true, and there is none like Him. I think of Him moment-by-moment, day by day, week by week. My thoughts of love and devotion never fails, because He provides for me, He protects me, He comforts and loves me with an everlasting love. When His name is spoken my heart skips, and I lie awake on my bed pondering what He will do next. I can’t stop praising and worshiping my God. So great is He, my possession and obsession.”

Did you or do you ever say or think that?

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear;
but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Romans 8:15 KJV

The Lord Who Rescues Me

HopeTrustLord it is You who keeps my soul alive and my feet dancing. I praise Your Holy name with a song, and magnify You with thanksgiving. The humble who hear my praise become glad. Those who seek You shall live also. When I reverence You then You hold my hand.

Your mercy is from everlasting to everlasting. Your righteousness extends to my children’s children. I cry out and You never fail to answer me. You strengthen me with strength in my soul. If I walk in the midst of trouble, You rescue me and Your right hand saves me. Lord you perfect all that concerns me. Your mercy endures forever and You have not forsaken the work of Your hands in my behalf.

Confident In His Comfort

ConfidenceLord God I anxiously seek your comfort each day. My eyes behold the manifestation of your promises in my life. I am your son/daughter and know that you hear my prayer. I wait for your rescue that is never far away. Each day I renew my hope in your word. In the midst of sorrowful and tearful circumstances my lips praise and worship you.

Your love is unfailing and it comforts me. You have sent the Holy Spirit to abide with me and He is my helper and source of comfort. Your presence assures me of your love and peace, and restores my soul. I am encouraged by your word and consume it as my necessary food. My mind, body, soul and spirit is filled and nourished by your truth. Your promises revive me and they comfort me in all my troubles.

Lord you know every burden, trouble and weight that I must endure and you fill me with patience. Confidence in your deliverance helps me mature naturally and spiritually. In turn, I know how to minister and encourage others to live in harmony and peace. Through confidence in you I have liberty, a tender heart and a humble attitude. With one mind I sympathize with others. And I love others as my brothers and sisters. You are the God of love and peace who is always with me. You are the source of all mercy, comfort and strength. Thank you for helping me to be more confident. I praise you, the Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Connect to God

crutches-habakkukOften I have heard people refer to God as a “crutch” and they use the word in a negative connotation. Sometimes it is to make light of the believer’s faith, trust and reliance on God, or give the impression that God relishes a following of zombie-like, dysfunctional people incapable of a significant life. Those who intend to mock us with usage of the word “crutch” fail to understand the utility and functionality of the crutch.

Crutches are mobility aids used to counter a mobility impairment or an injury that limits walking ability. –Definition source: Wilkipedia

When you have been afflicted and decide to change your posture and connect to God, He should be welcomed as a crutch. His promises are your support and strength to compensate for every weakness. He is a crutch to facilitate your physical and spiritual healing. He comes along side you for natural and spiritual development, change, growth, and maturity. God is your crutch for any situation. (from “Talk to God with Affirmations of Faith”)

“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”–Isaiah 46:4 (NIV)

Guest Interview with “SCRIPTURE WORKS!” author, Rali Macaulay

Rali Macaulay

Rali Macaulay

I am pleased to introduce Rali Macaulay to the Pray What God Says blog for a guest author interview.

Rali is an international bestselling Christian author, with a desire to bring the lost to the Lord, empower believers, and strengthen their relationship with God through her writings.

ScriptureWorks

Earlier this year Rali’s debut book entitled “SCRIPTURE WORKS!” became a bestseller within days of its launching. She is passionate about the Word of God, and lives her life on the principles of God’s Word.

PWGS: What is your book all about?
RM: The full title, “SCRIPTURE WORKS! Effectively Praying God’s Word over Life Situations” is about prayer based on God’s Word, the Bible.

What inspired you to write this book?
RM: Many years ago, I started to pray with the scriptures; but then I would encounter similar situations in the future and completely forgot what scriptures I used in the past. As a result I would need to do my researches afresh and find appropriate scriptures to pray. I later decided to start journaling the bible verses I was using, at first in no particular order. Later I started to categorize them. After several years of doing this, I began to sense the Lord leading me to share these scriptures with others because there are many people struggling to pray, or know what scriptures to use in prayers. Some don’t even know they can or need to pray the scriptures.

How did you decide to do what you’re doing today, that is, become a published author?
RM: First, without any doubt, the grace of God. I also reached a point where I realized no matter how much I prayed or fasted, God was not going to do my part for me, which was to start writing. I needed to start putting whatever the Lord was placing in my heart on paper. So, with that knowledge, I made a decision to get serious with my calling and do this first book that I had been working on for too long. So I set a deadline even when I had no idea how to publish or how to get a book cover done! But God is ever faithful. Once you trust Him, and take that first step, and commit to doing your part, He will begin to bring in the people, resources and even skills you need to complete the assignment he has placed in your hands.

How long have you been writing?
RM: Since elementary school. I used to write short sentences on paper cut into little squares. I would staple those together and proudly pronounce I had a book. My writing continued in high school, however my first published work was a little over 20 years ago when I wrote an article for my local church magazine.

Can you describe a typical day in your life where you are able to fit writing into it?
RM: My typical day is very busy. Presently I work full time, and I’m a wife and mother of three little kids 🙂 However, the Lord taught me to use what used to be a concern/pain to my advantage. I travel long hours to and from work; and fortunately I get to take the train. So these are the hours I do my writings the most — while commuting to and from work. I also try waking early Saturdays before my kids, so I can spend some hours writing.

What do you enjoy most about what you do as an author?
RM: Seeing lives transformed, and people re-committing to spend time with their Maker. I’m also blessed when I hear testimonies of people arising to take their rightful place in Christ and living victorious Christian lives. I also, obviously, enjoy writing. When I write, I experience joy and peace. I feel deep satisfaction; and right then forget about any current issues that should have been a concern. It’s like being translated from the present to the heart of God.

Are there any people and/or books that have inspired you along your journey?
RM: Definitely the bible takes first place 🙂 I love reading that Book; and the Author is my Father:) I just enjoy God’s word. It’s ever fresh, ever relevant, ever powerful! I read books by different authors that I really love; but early in my life as a believer, I really enjoyed reading Max Lucado’s books, when it comes to getting an assurance of God’s love for me, and His total acceptance of me. I also enjoy Yonngi Cho’s books on prayers. But all in all, I have been blessed to have been under the teachings of several anointed men and women of God either directly or indirectly; and these have been used by the Holy Spirit to shape (and still shaping) my life.

Can you share something that people might be surprised to learn about you?
RM: I love to crochet, and have done so since I was very little.

What do you expect your readers to gain from reading your books?
RM: I want my readers to cease being defeated in life! I want them to know that they have help in God through His Word, and that His Word is most reliable. In addition, I want them to experience how to turn scriptures into prayers, and help them to actually pray those scriptures through the sample prayers and faith declarations provided. I also want them to know that the Word covers EVERY situation in their lives. No matter what it is, God’s got it covered! That is what the book “SCRIPTURE WORKS!” is about.

If you are working on any new book projects can you give us a sneak-peek?
RM: Yes. I am currently working on a series entitled “Secrets to Empowered Lifestyle.” I recently published the first book in the series “7 Days of Power.” The purpose of this book is to provide a daily devotional for the week, with scriptural prayers/faith declarations. It also includes a bonus section on goals because “…faith without works is dead…” –James 2:17.

Thank you Rali for being my guest author here at Pray What God Says. I hope you will continue to stand by your motto and that is to inspire others to live fulfilled, empowered, and victorious lives in Christ — so they will be enabled to know and walk in God’s plans.
